Ultrafiltration (UF) Water Filtration System

Ultrafiltration or UF used the water pressure from your home to push water through a semipermeable membrane to remove contaminants. Unlike Reverse Osmosis, Ultrafiltration retains minerals in the water, while filtering out parasites, viruses, and bacteria. Only fresh water ad dissolved minerals pass through. Suspended particles that are too large to pass through the membrane stick to the outer membrane surface. These larger particles can be filtered our prior to reaching the UF system with a pre-filter.
